About Justin Mukedereza Foundation
In 2004, a group of men and women in the district who appreciated Justin’s efforts in assisting widows, orphans and other victims of repeated wars met in Bukavu and decided to create an organization that they named “Amis de Justin Mudekereza pour le Développement, AJMD” meaning Friends of Justin Mudekereza for Development. This organization struggled to get its recognition by officials but did not succeed due to high charges but remained very supportive to the charitable actions of Mr. Justin Mudekereza and other many local organizations.
In 2012, a group of local organizations and individuals, including members of AJMD decided to create the Justin Mudekereza Foundation (JMF) which is now a registered by officials as a Non Governmental Organization and a Non-Profit working in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to actively contribute to the alleviation of human suffering in general and the development of communities in particular.
The organization started its activities in early 2014 after strategic planning of the activities and its approval by the beneficiary communities and other local partner organizations in the province of South Kivu and North Kivu, in eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Considering the background of the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) where the organization started its activities, a background characterized by couples of war conflicts, the JMF cannot do this work alone notwithstanding the highest commitment.
Moral and material contributions of partners on local, national and international levels are strongly awaited. This includes, but not limited to, the involvement of volunteers and donors.
Thank you very much for your valuable contributions.
